We’ve had word of the details for Stan Ambrose’s funeral, and the two events the general public are invited to share in.
AMBROSE – STAN, July 11, 2016. Peacefully at home aged 86.
Retired social worker, presenter of ‘Folkscene’ on Radio Merseyside for 49 years, and renowned harper. Much loved and missed by the Liverpool music community.
Stan will be resting at the funeral care home on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th. Visits by appointment, details below.
Private Woodland Burial on Saturday 6 August. His coffin will pass along Aigburth Drive through his beloved Sefton Park from 11am.

Saturday 6th August
Following his burial, there will be an ‘open mic’ music session to celebrate his life on Saturday evening at The Florrie, 377 Mill Street, L8 4RF (6pm-11pm).
All musicians welcome to come and play.
Sunday 7th August
On Sunday 7th at the Palm House, Sefton Park, 10am-3pm, there will be a chance to pay our final respects before his harp leaves the city.
