And if all that wasn’t enough there’s going to be an extra special raffle on the night. Here’s what Vanessa has to say about it:-
I will be holding a raffle at my EP Launch (next Friday 6th November at Parr Street, Studio 2). Tickets are £1 each, and you could be in with a chance of winning one of the prizes below.
When I was 17, I recorded “I Don’t Wanna Lose You Like This” for the first time at Knotty Ash Youth Centre in Liverpool. The centre also put me forward to enter the “Rock The House” competition in 2013 which I won a part of. The youth centre provided facilities for musicians to perform, rehearse, record and be creative for a very small cost (around £1 each!). It also helped young people use music to get off the streets and do something different with their time.
Sadly, the centre has now closed. I’d now like to give something back to the community by raising money for The Liverpool Rehearsal Space Project (based at Harthill Youth Centre), which is ran by some of the staff which worked at Knotty Ash.
I am therefore raffling off my first ever Acoustic Guitar. I have also had a very generous donation from Senneheiser UK (a set of MOMENTUM headphones RRP £299). Also a third donation, which is been very kindly donated by JKSP Services Ltd – a mix of Wines and Spirits*
ALL RAFFLE MONEY RAISED WILL BE GOING TO THE LIVERPOOL REHEARSAL SPACE PROJECT (Harthill Youth Centre).
The opportunities I have been given would not have been possible without the help and support of the wonderful staff at Knotty Ash. So thank you to those who helped!
Please help support this wonderful cause, and let the wonderful work of the youth workers continue.
Tickets will be available to purchase at my EP Launch:
Liverpool Acoustic is the only website of its kind in the UK. It was founded by Graham Holland in April 2008 as a central resource for the vibrant and exciting acoustic music scene in Liverpool and the Greater Merseyside area. The website publishes news from the local acoustic music scene, previews of upcoming events, reviews of music releases and gigs, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight podcast. This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
