Emilio Pinchi launches his Trying Man EP at the Lantern on 4th November.
Liverpool Acoustic and Mellowtone are collaborating on two exciting EP launches at Liverpool’s Lantern Theatre in November
First up on Wednesday 4th November 2015 is folk punk singer songwriter, Emilio Pinchi who is launching his Trying Man EP.
Support on the night is from Katie and I, plus Beaten Tracks DJs playing laid back funk, soul, hiphop, jazz and beats.
Taking a stark outlook on everyday life, love and the purgatorial phase of moving from adolescence to adulthood – Pinchi has won praise from critics including BBC 6 music’s Tom Robinson.
Pinchi favours a lo-fi aesthetic, shunning traditional recording environments to self produce material in his kitchen.
With his latest offering, Pinchi hopes to build on the success of 2014, which saw him play a host of festivals and live TV sessions.
Emilio Pinchi – Trying Man EP
Influenced by Elliot Smith and The Antlers, Pinchi’s latest EP is insightful and fresh, yet possesses character and deliberations that are wise beyond his years.
Accompanying the EP will be a short documentary, shot during the recording process, which took place largely over the course of a single night in Pinchi’s living room. This will be screened at the launch event.
Emilio said: “I’m really looking forward to presenting my new EP in the Lantern. The EP was recorded over the course of a single night with my friends in our living room. We filmed the whole thing just for a bit of fun and, looking back through the footage, decided to make a short film for everyone to watch at the launch show. I guess the plan is to try and do something a little different from the usual ‘musician-guy releases EP’.”
