Fans of musical comedy are in for a real treat this week as the massively entertaining and hugely award-winning Jollyboat bring a preview of their new 2015 Edinburgh Fringe show to town.
For those of you unaware of their awesomeness, Jollyboat are an internationally touring, nerdy musical comedy act like no other.
The press quote says ‘If you like Flight of the Conchords, you’ll f*cking love Jollyboat’ and is followed by a list of esteemed publications that have given the duo six magnificent stars. In the examples below each asterisk (*) represents a lovely, twinkling star.

The two Liverpool previews take place on Tuesday 7th and Friday 10th July at 81 Renshaw Street. Doors open at 7pm and the show runs from 8.00pm to 10.00pm with a short break. Tickets are £5 on the door only, so arrive early to *ensure/avoid disappointment (*delete as appropriate).
“But what are these new shows Tom and Ed have been locked away in a darkened room for 10 months developing?” we hear you ask in a purely rhetorical manner. Here’s the description in all their geeky glory.
Ed and Tommy fangirl over Videogames, Game of Thrones, and Role-playing (in a very manly pirate-rockstar way, of course). So hoist the projector screen and set sail for geekdom! This show has loads of new material, and is a new direction for Jollyboat. “We’re writing songs that you could never play in traditional comedy clubs, and adding more big visuals.”
The interactive adventure in which YOU are the hero! Roleplay Cabaret is an improvised audience roleplaying game, possibly the world’s first. Help us develop this unique synergy of show and game!
81 Renshaw Street is also hosting seven more evenings of Edinburgh Fringe comedy previews. Check out their Bingo card here along with details of how you can qualify for a free drink or even a free breakfast!
