Music and Art at the View Two Gallery on Light Night 2015
Acoustic Dustbowl and Liverpool Acoustic are joining forces to bring a free night of live, acoustic music to the View Two Gallery on Friday 15th May for Light Night 2015.
For the discerning and knowledgeable listener; take time to relax and view beautiful works of art in a peaceful gallery and bar, an oasis of culture a few floors above the melee of the most famous music street in the world, and listen to the sounds of acoustic music curated around the Light Night 2015 theme of ‘The New World’.
The music takes place from 6.00pm to 10.00pm in the View Two Gallery’s third floor performance space and is hosted by Acoustic Dustbowl’s The Southbound Attic Band and Liverpool Acoustic’s Three Minute Hero. Performing on the night will be Mark Pountney, Derek King, Simon Herron, Shoes4Brakes, John Fueke Hall, Adam Danger Lewis, and Iain Till.
Enjoy folk, Celtic and Americana music played each month by local, national and international musicians at the beautiful View Two Gallery. These events, run by Liverpool Acoustic and Acoustic Dustbowl, are part of a continuum of music which has its roots in Irish, Scottish, English and Welsh music which travelled through the port of Liverpool to the USA and beyond.
Distilled and mixed through the mountains of Appalachia, the streets of New Orleans, the bars and honkytonks of Nashville and Texas, and wherever the migrants settled, the music evolved but is still recognisable and enjoyed by people who celebrate their own heritage, and love live music.
Visitors can also view an exhibition of paintings by Stephen Bower entitled ‘Two Pints of Paint and a Packet of Crisps’ which captures 25 Liverpool pubs.

Liverpool Acoustic is the only website of its kind in the UK. It was founded by Graham Holland in April 2008 as a central resource for the vibrant and exciting acoustic music scene in Liverpool and the Greater Merseyside area. The website publishes news from the local acoustic music scene, previews of upcoming events, reviews of music releases and gigs, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight podcast. This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
