SINGLE REVIEW

Artist – Maxi Dunn

Single – Perfect Sorrow

Release date – 15th October 2014

Reviewer – Ian Sharp

Having musical influence from the likes of Sam Brown, Japan and Kate Bush, Maxi Dunn has mastered her sound and has built up a loyal following for the past twenty years or so. She now spends a lot of her time song writing and to date has achieved three brilliant albums critically acclaimed by the industry.

The next chapter in Maxi’s musical journey sees the release of her new single Perfect Sorrow on 15th October 2015, her first for over a year. Production again is Peter Hackett and musical support from Damon Roots and Steve Turnige. Together performing as a dream team that evoke Maxi’s heartfelt, emotive lyrics that mirrors the success of her last three albums.

The track starts with a gentle guitar intro with lyrics that repeat in the background. A bit more upbeat to Maxi’s usual work. A brilliantly executed lead guitar which holds the whole song together. Dealing with standing up for yourself the lyrics talk of being strong and never being weak.

The single is taken from Maxi Dunn’s forthcoming album Operation Bubble which is due to be released late spring 2015. The single can be purchased from the usual platforms, iTunes, Amazon and Maxi’s own website.
