Liverpool Acoustic Afternoon – Saturday 12th July 2014

We enjoyed April and June’s Liverpool Acoustic Afternoon events so much that we’ve decided to add an extra one into the calendar for July.

It’s taking place on Saturday 12th July 2014 at the View Two Gallery, our regular home on Mathew Street in the heart of the Cavern Quarter.

The afternoon sees two talented acts each playing a 20 minute set.

• The Southbound Attic Band are local duo Barry Jones and Ronnie Clark. They combine Celtic flavoured acoustic Americana with an English folk rock sensibility and catchy melodic songs with a dark edge. The band host the monthly Acoustic Dustbowl event at the View Two Gallery and can often be seen playing at Heebie Jeebies on a Saturday afternoon.
• Moss & Jones  are a folk-inspired musical duo consisting of Ruth Moss and Marc Jones, a pair of musicians from Merseyside. The soon-to-be-married pair met in the autumn of 2011 and after a whirlwind romance settled down to the business of life together… including a good hearty dose of music! Moss & Jones write upbeat, whimsical, intelligent original songs and occasionally perform imaginative covers too. They’ve performed in various venues around Merseyside including the Bombed Out Church, MelloMello, the Kazimier Gardens and the Brink.

The rest of the time is filled with 10 minute open mic slots, available on a first come, first served basis.

The event runs from 1pm to 4pm, and the gallery is open from 12pm to 5pm.

Liverpool Acoustic co-organiser Graham Holland said “The Liverpool Acoustic Afternoons have become so popular we’ve been forced to arrange extra dates this year. And why not? It’s a great way to spend a chilled out Saturday afternoon in a warm, inviting venue with great music and good company.”

The music takes place in the third floor performance space, and the bar will be open serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and alcohol.
