Vintage Radio is an online radio station based at Birkenhead YMCA with a range of programmes featuring news, community, opera, ’60s, rock ‘n’ roll, chat and more.
The station has a new weekly programme starting on Thursday 15th August from 8pm. Hosted by local musician Gerry Murphy, Gerry’s Acoustic Lounge will feature all kinds of acoustic music, both originals and covers. Each show will feature a studio guest who will have the opportunity to chat about their music and their favourite acoustic pieces, and to play a song or two live on air. And if the guest brings along a memory stick then they can leave (technomology permitting!) with a recording of the show.
Performers already lined up are Mark Whitley (Wallasey), and Caroline Murphy (Liverpool).
If you’re an acoustic music and you’re interested in taking part, you can audition for the show by sending details of yourself along with a track for Gerry to play the week before to email@example.com
Best of luck, and we’ll see you on the web!

Vintage Radio looking for acoustic acts
Liverpool Acoustic is the only website of its kind in the UK. It was founded by Graham Holland in April 2008 as a central resource for the vibrant and exciting acoustic music scene in Liverpool and the Greater Merseyside area. The website publishes news from the local acoustic music scene, previews of upcoming events, reviews of music releases and gigs, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight podcast. This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
