Hot on the heels of winning Live Music Night of the Year for the second time at the Liverpool Music Awards 2013, Liverpool Acoustic is launching a brand new, weekly open mic night.
The new night, inventively called Liverpool Acoustic Open Mic @ Sound, takes place every Monday evening from 2nd September at Sound Food & Drink on Duke Street and combines open mic with a number of booked acts. It starts from 8.00pm, runs through to midnight, and is free to attend. All performers on the night receive a free drink.
Liverpool Acoustic’s Graham Holland says “We’ve been running our monthly showcase event for over four years and a regular open mic night seemed the next natural thing to do.”
Sound Food & Drink’s Jules Bennett says “We’re delighted that Sound Food & Drink will be hosting Liverpool Acoustic’s first ever weekly open mic night every Monday. Liverpool Acoustic’s award-winning live music nights coupled with our top class food and drinks menu are a perfect way to start the week.”
Musicians wishing to take part can pre-book a slot on the Sound Food & Drink facebook page or just turn up early.

Liverpool Acoustic is the only website of its kind in the UK. It was founded by Graham Holland in April 2008 as a central resource for the vibrant and exciting acoustic music scene in Liverpool and the Greater Merseyside area. The website publishes news from the local acoustic music scene, previews of upcoming events, reviews of music releases and gigs, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight podcast. This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
