No doubt you’re wondering why we’re telling you all about Americana Ten when it’s still over a month away. The truth is, with over half of the 250 tickets already sold we wanted to give you as much notice as possible so you’re not disappointed when the last one is sold. Americana Ten is run by Americana UK, the UK’s largest website focussing on the Americana (alternative country) music genre. In addition to the website (which is based here in Liverpool), they run an annual festival which you won’t be surprised to hear is in its tenth year. It’s taking place on Saturday 12th November 2011 from 2.00pm to 11.00pm at the Contemporary Urban Centre in the Baltic Triangle. The lineup features international artists Richmond Fontaine, Mark Eitzel, and Richard Buckner, national artists The Toy Hearts, Danny & The Champions of the World, Redlands Palomino Company, and local artists The Southbound Attic Band, Ratty Little Fingers, Jollyboat, plus much more. All-day tickets are £22 available from the CUC box office from 10.00am to 6.00pm on 0151 708 359 or from their website here. All proceeds from the day will go to local and national charities. Liverpool Acoustic is the only website of its kind in the UK. It was founded by Graham Holland in April 2008 as a central resource for the vibrant and exciting acoustic music scene in Liverpool and the Greater Merseyside area. The website publishes news from the local acoustic music scene, previews of upcoming events, reviews of music releases and gigs, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight podcast. This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
