Dan Elson got bored of going to see boring depressing bands who didn’t look like they were having any fun. He thought to himself ‘Something must be done’ and so he did something.
Unfortunately that something resulted in songs about beards, llamas, scallies, monkeys, socks, high fives and numerous other ridiculous things.
No one else is writing songs like this, anywhere, but that’s mostly because it would never occur to anyone else to do so. And there are a fair few of them.
Dan has released three EPs to date (the latest of which you can now buy on iTunes) but works on the policy that if possible each gig should showcase a new song. This means that he has a gigging repertoire of 60 tunes with which he can delight and regale you.
Dan Elson, a man Generation Live Magazine accurately calls a “beard obsessed, monkey loving musical monster” is available in three flavours, acoustic solo, acoustic duo (with a trumpeter) and full rock n roll band.
Thank you to Dan for offering his music for the show.
Dan’s new Actual Size EP is now available priced £2 at live shows in CD format, and is now on iTunes.
You can find out all about him at his MySpace profile, where you can find details about how you can get hold of his CDs, and where you can see him play live.
If you get the chance, please support your local artists by emailing them, joining their mailing lists, leaving them comments, going to their gigs, and buying their music direct from them where possible.
